Violet Grohl

Violet Grohl is a 19-year-old singer-songwriter whose debut album, Be Sweet To Me, was recorded in Los Angeles with producer Justin Raisen. The album blends grunge, shoegaze, noise rock, slowcore, and alternative influences from artists like Pixies, PJ Harvey, Cocteau Twins, and Björk, alongside inspiration from filmmaker David Lynch. Raised in a deeply musical family, Grohl is the daughter of Dave Grohl and began writing poetry and music young, teaching herself ukulele and guitar. Her songwriting shifted from private bedroom demos to collaborative studio work during the making of the album. The record’s lyrics are impressionistic and emotionally raw, exploring identity, grief, relationships, feminism, and self-destruction through heavy guitars, noise textures, and melodic hooks. Songs like “Thum,” “595,” and “Cool Buzz” combine vulnerability with aggression and dark humor. The title Be Sweet To Me reflects both tenderness and emotional survival.
